DIY Fashion Catalogue

DIY Fashion Catalogue is here! Look everyone! that's me in the video! I've just set up my own fashion business, and it's like a dream come true! Why? Because, ever since I was a child, fashion is my passion, but to make it and wear it, to shop it and wear it, never to make it and market it!

Nevertheless, that's how it is sometimes. Having started with the Women's Coop Business Venture, I'm now branching out into my own niche, and I've given it the working title: DIY Fashion Design Catalogue.

You might wonder how it all began. So, to settle your interest, here's my story:

My story really begins in the middle of things, for as said above, I learned to sew from early on. However, the business aspect of it is what concerns me here.

I've been busy since I learned how to save and make money through easy DIY Ladies Fashion.

This started a few years ago, when I went to a sewing class and took a practical sewing course. The organizers promised that I'd save thousands of dollars through applying the principles of easy DIY Ladies fashion. Since then I've been making up my own wardrobe, so their promise is certainly turning out to be true.

 EARLY BEGINNINGS

The first garments that I  designed,  using the principle of DIY Ladies Fashion, were skirts, such as the one pictured below.

Although I didn't start off as robust as I'd have liked, I stuck to it, and eventually I got into a regular schedule.
This means that I'd have a special day, usually Friday, to do my cutting, and then I spend Saturday sewing all day.

LATER DEVELOPMENTS

Eventually I began to make tops as well. I'd make print tops and pair them with linen skirts. I also tried
This proved to be  very economical and suitable for wearing to work.  I liked designing with Ankara fabric because it was summer, (two years ago), and the garments were very cool and comfortable. some of them went to church, as this crisp printed navy Ankara top and skirt below.

WHAT I DO AT PRESENT

I now schedule myself so that I do my Easy DIY Ladies Fashion designing in between my blogging, one or two hours on Thursday and Fridays, then sew on Saturdays.

Here are some of my favorites.

IN CONCLUSION : This is actually my second venture into fashion designing. I had a previous plan to  market my DIY Ladies Fashion collection through an Etsy online store, and I did set up a store on that platform. However, given the costs of making and shipping the garments to customers, that venture eventually fizzed out. In fact, I figured that it would be more economical to :
  •  be my own customer and purchase the garments for myself
  •  market them locally. in an economical location.

So. this is what I've done! And I've made a video of it too, as proof ! Just to encourage YOU. If I could do, it, YOU could do, so never give up! Keep trying so that you can soon be living your dream!
